ABOUT THE CENTER FOR THE
PROMOTION OF INTIMACY

What are some of the factors that get in the way of intimacy?

  • Money
  • Sex
  • Power
  • Gender Roles
  • Feelings of Inferiority
  • Feelings of Superiority
  • False Ideas about Love and Intimacy
  • Poor Communication Skills
  • Trust Issues

Definition of intimacy a la Webster's:
   "The state of being intimate"

Definition of intimate:
"belonging to or characterizing one’s deepest nature, of a very personal or private nature, marked by a very close association, contact or familiarity."

Intimacy with yourself helps you realize your dreams.

Intimacy with someone else helps you actualize your dreams.

Money Myths: Money will bring you…

  • Love
  • Happiness
  • Power
  • Friends
  • Self Esteem
  • Acceptance
  • Security

Not True! Couples fight more about money than anything else.

The Center for the Promotion of Intimacy is a place where individuals and couples can learn the meaning of intimacy, how it will enhance their lives, and how they can go about making intimacy a part of the life they want to create with themselves and with others. The Center for the Promotion of Intimacy is staffed by licensed Marriage and Family Therapists who are trained to guide you through the process of uncovering and overcoming the roadblocks that keep you from having a more intimate relationship in your life.

The Center for the Promotion of Intimacy offers an opportunity to work through feelings of inferiority, trust issues, poor communication skills and gender roles. All this is accomplished in an environment that is completely confidential.
