Dr. Ani Karayan earned her Ph.D. in 2002 with specializations in both Multicultural Mental Health and Individual and Family Therapy. Her clinical experience includes outpatient and inpatient settings, substance abuse clinics, disaster response teams, at-risk adolescent treatment centers, family services agencies, and hospital settings. Dr. Karayan conducted research on the topic of spina bifida for her disseration at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. She then accepted a position for the Director of Psychosocial Programs in spina bifida at Childrens Hospital. Dr. Karayan has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University where she taught Graduate level courses, such as, infant assessment and chemical dependency.
When not conducting research or teaching, Dr. Karayan enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters who have inspired her to develop a multicultural center focusing on mind and body healing.
